The purpose of Caroline’s Ranch is to provide a stable home environment for children who have experienced incredible hardship. The intention is to love and support children, giving them the tools to break generational cycles and become healthy family members, workers, and friends. Caroline's Ranch desires to start the healing process through sharing the hope of a relationship with God.
On the ranch kids would have the opportunity to develop skills. These skills would teach the values of responsibility and hard work while restoring trust and confidence. We would encourage youth to find purpose through meaningful work, while creating sustainable job opportunities in the community. The ranch would work unison with the natural strengths of the community and land; teaching the youth to honor and nurture the land as God intended rather than exploiting it. Caroline's ranch would also provide educational support, athletic programs, and extracurricular resources to youth.
Caroline has worked with kids for over fifteen years all over the world; from sports camps to childrens' homes to local non profits. She has become more convinced each year that the amount of children who have endured incredible hardship and exploitation is staggering, while not many are fighting for them. Caroline lives in Kailua Kona, HI where she hopes to purchase the first ranch. Eventually she would like to begin ranches in Ventura, CA and Santa Cruz, CA before expanding internationally.
Our long term goal would be to work both domestically and internationally identifying and rescuing children being exploited before helping them heal and reintegrate. Eventually the hope would be to develop ranches in other countries. They would have similar goals of providing a stable environment for youth while also fostering hard work and sustainability; working in unison with and honoring the strengths of the community.
Endurance is one of our biggest priorities. Teaching and encouraging one another to take another step forward even when it is painful. Allowing love to cost us something and continuing to live by faith even though the fulfillment of things promised might not be seen in this lifetime. (Hebrews 11:13)
To be patient, kind, not envy or boast, be humble, honor others, be selfless, not easily angered or keep a record of wrongs, not to delight in evil but rejoice with the truth, to protect, trust, hope, and persevere. (1 Corinthians 13)
We are not condemned for our sin, but rather walk in the freedom and no longer answer to the law of sin and death. (Romans 8: 1-2, Romans 7:14-20)
To take wild risks and become confident as we learn the outcome is not in our hands. To let go of control, giving the outcome to God, which gives us the freedom to try the impossible. (Matthew 14;27-31)
To always give thanks and see the good in our circumstances. God's will is for us to give thanks to Him in every circumstance. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Supporting children and staff throughout their life, through the good and the bad. Bearing with one another in love, and maintaining a bond through peace. (Ephesians 4:1-6)
A man skillful in his work will stand before kings. (Proverbs 22:29).
If you have a beautiful story, it has to have conflict. If you don't have conflict, it can't be a good story. - Donald Miller
